The Record’s top 10

07.21.09 | 6 Comments

Blog nuts out there will be aware that the rules for the Political Blog Awards 2009 expressly forbid bloggers to set out their top ten blogs on their blogs, on pain of votes cast by people doing ‘duplicate lists’ being disqualified.

Having worked out all by myself both how ridiculous and unenforcable that rule is, I present The Bickerstaffe Record top 10, but not in any particular order just yet, and just sort of the top of my head.  They may change later.

The things they have in common:

a) A willingness to do detail and write long if writing long is what it takes; b)  socialist AND with GSOH; c) All, or at least most of them are willing to engage properly with commenters, and also comment ‘unselfishly’ on other blogs; d) linked to above, not up their own arse; e) linked to above, live in real world in addition to blogosphere; f) I just like them.

Filling most or all of these criteria are:

Though Cowards Flinch; Duncan’s Economic Blog; Socialist Economic Bulletin; Harpymarx; Yorkshire Ranter; Stumbling and Mumbling; Iansredblog; Don Paskini; Stilettoed Socialist; The Third Estate; Vino SMatthew Cain

Oh, that’s 12, and I’ve still got some to add.  Bugger.  I’ll tidy it up another day.  Advice welcome.

Yeah, and I know there’s only two female blogs there.  Do I feel bad about that?  Yes I do, but I’m not going to equal it up with female blogs I don’t actually like just for the sake of it.
